Freebie Friday: Master Bedroom Redux

Master Bedroom – Before and After

In Latin the word “redux” means “brought back, restored”.  So we thought it would be good to spend our next five Fridays talking about all the possibilities there are in bringing your master bedroom back to life – romantically speaking!

I’m not one to reinvent the wheel, really!  I mean, why bother?  There are so many others who provide great ideas and help in this area, that our job on The Romantic Vineyard is simply to help you find the ideas you need to romance your spouse.  It doesn’t matter who the ideas came from – so, I want to share with you two amazing blogs I’ve discovered.  I have a feeling we’ll be gleaning quite a bit from these two sites.

Today I introduce you to Melissa, from The Inspired Room.  Her blog is full of beautiful pictures that will inspire you, but what I really want to share with you is her guest post on Simply Modern Moms.  I know I’ve probably lost most of our husbands at this point, but so be it!  Usually it’s the wife who infuses romance into the decorating of the home anyway.  However, if you’re the husband, and this is your thing – have at it!  We don’t care who leads the charge, as long as the charge is embraced.

Valentine’s Day is only a month away, and we want to help you reclaim your space with little to no cost.  We will provide an assignment each Friday for you to work on the following week.

Assignment #1:  Read the two blog links above and spend the next week taking care of the areas in your room that made you say, “Meh!” as Melissa would say!  Clean out the clutter – remove the piles that don’t belong.  Practice making your bed everyday!  But before you do anything – take a “before” picture.  We want to see the progress you make.  If this is something you would like to do…post a comment and be sure to check in every Friday for your next assignment!

I will definitely participate! I have spent most of my time (since the move) on every other room in the house.

Thanks so much for your website! I’ve been benefitting from it the last couple weeks and even got an idea for my husband’s 30th birthday here. I also appreciate this series on keeping our rooms in order. Just this week my husband, who has been very understanding since we’ve added a toddler to the mix this year, asked if I could start making our bedroom look more inviting – very timely inspiration on your site! 🙂

I am so glad you’ve been inspired to romanticize your space. Having a toddler can certainly distract you (in a good and necessary way) from pursuing romance. So it’s all the more important to keep your bedroom inviting and a place to call your own. Thanks!

You know, I started making my bed every day since you posted this and my room has (miraculously) stayed clean and neat. I, also, realized that the rest of my house was following! I guess waking up to a clean space makes you want all your spaces clean and tidy. 🙂

Isn’t it strange how something so simple can start a ripple effect for the rest of our home? I love it! Thanks for inspiring me, Ashley! I’m off to make my bed – I forgot to this morning! 🙂
