Blessings

We sing songs asking God to bless our family, bless our travels and bless our country.  But do we really recognize all the blessings when they come to us?  What about when they’re hidden in painful circumstances or unanswered prayer?  Do we see God’s hand at work even in these times, or do we feel He has abandoned us?

There is a new song by Laura Story titled, Blessings, we shared with you in Saturday’s post.  If you missed it, you’ll want to take a moment to listen to it.  It is worth your time.

Today we want to share with you the background and what led Laura to write this song.  It may surprise you, and it will certainly BLESS you.  Although she and her husband, Martin, have been married a little over 7 years, they have learned a lesson many marriages never have.

“Sometimes He gives us what we need rather than what we want.”

– Laura Story

How has God blessed you and your marriage in unexpected ways?  Do you see them as blessings or curses?

LOVE this song. Discovered it last week, and one evening I found myself home alone, working late at the computer, and just kept playing it over … and over …
There’s so much wisdom in the words.
