Many couples were able to enjoy the phenomenon on Saturday night together. It was the closest the moon would be to the earth this year and coincided with the full moon, making what NASA scientists call a Super Moon. And it was spectacular from my vantage point–Marietta, Ga. Unfortunately, Tom was in Chicago and unable to “moon-gaze” with me, but that didn’t keep him from seizing the romantic moment. Following is the text and picture he sent me:
Not the same without you!
This made me smile and miss him all the more. How did you spend Saturday evening’s moon-watching event?
As a bonus we’ve compiled a new video using a variety of photographs from all over the world. It’s set to a song we love by John Elefante, That’s Why God Made The Moon. We hope you enjoy it!

It was a beautiful moon. I tried to watch your video, but it says it’s blocked from our country. The other one about the three little pigs is a riot!

Just beautiful! I especially loved the very dramatic shot that pops up at 3:09 on the video… the blood red moon over the ocean. Wow!
Of course, Tom’s pic is pretty special too though… His came with a love text for his hunny!

Jason, You couldn’t be more accurate–my favorite pic was the one in Chicago.

Beautiful photos!
Actually. The moment the moon was to come out, we got hit with a big thunderstorm in our area. So instead, my husband and I went for a drive and enjoyed the beauty of the lightning. I got some awesome pictures of a purple-lit sky. Praise God for His glory even in a storm!

I love watching a thunderstorm across a night sky. God constantly displays His glory for us if we’ll only take the time to notice. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
