Stand up and walk away from the computer. Go directly to your master bedroom and measure how it looks. Next take our poll. Don’t worry you can be honest, the results are completely anonymous, but we believe this will inspire you to get your bedroom spruced up for the summer.
Now that you’ve determined the state of your bedroom, it’s time to make plans on how to get it back to the romantic haven it’s intended to be.
Last summer we did a week long Sizzle Your Space challenge covering the five days leading up to the 4th of July. We want to provide links to each of those posts for you, so you can have the inspiration needed to not only make your bedroom better, but to make it sizzle. 🙂 You may want to take a before picture, so you can fully appreciate the work you did afterward.
So, what inspires you to keep your bedroom romantic?
oops.
Busted.

🙂 At least you’re honest.

It doesn’t have to have an effect on what happens in (or on or near) the bed, though…

Oh but it does, Roy. Women have a hard time pushing the mess aside to be romantic.

our bedroom is nice. Its small with a door or window on every wall so I can’t come up with any nice decorative ideas for it. I try to keep it clean but still miss a romantic mood. I’m going to work on the lighting maybe that will help.

Lighting does wonders, Shawn. I think you’ll find it definitely adds romance to any space. And it isn’t expensive either.

We do make our bedroom a priority and my husband calls it the “play room.” God blest us with a home that had a fireplace in the master bedroom and then in honor or my husband getting his masters degree, we bought a double wide jetted tub and put it right in front of the fireplace and it’s only a few feet from the bed. We also have plenty of candles around in the room and we keep it picked up and neat. We also have shelves and use them to display the romantic cards we’ve bought for each other. A white plastic love seat is in front of the fireplace so we can sit there together and enjoy the fire. I do make our bedroom a priority and I know this honors my husband. We’ve been very happily married for 33 years!!

Blest Wife,
Those are some amazing ideas. Thanks for sharing your inspiring room with us. 33 years speaks volumes, AND we love the “play room.”

Thank you, Blest Wife, for your ideas on making the bedroom somewhere my husband I would actually like to spend time together. They say “Less is more”. Since our bedrrom is less than the average size bedroom I should consider removing some items and consolidating others. My problem is I am not good at desinging a functional/romantic bedroom on a tight budget (myself and my son are in college). I will review Debi’s links above (Thank you too, Debi) to get some ideas.

Valerie,
How cool that a year ago you found us, and now God is providing inspiration to finish this summer. I pray you’ll enjoy the results by the end of the summer.

wow I can’t imagine a jetted tub and a fireplace in the master bedroom. Our room needs a radical change, I suppose the rose ‘fabric’ comforter should go now? :o) Oh and the special teddy bears too? :o}

Thank you so much for this! My husband and I are going on 7 years this August and our bedroom is a mess! We don’t even have kids, just 2 very spoiled pets. My husband is in the military and we are stationed in Germany. We live in a German house so our bedroom is huge but the walls are concrete and we are not allowed to drill holes. I went to the store today and got new fluffy pillows and new sheets. I also ordered a new down comforter from Amazon (hopefully it doesn’t take too long to get here). I have moved our bedroom furniture around making it look much better with all the space we have. I can’t wait to surprise my husband when he gets home from work this evening! 🙂
