13 Fall Dates – #3

Our view

Living in Florida we don’t get to enjoy much of the Fall season unless we wait until January when we actually see some color changes in the trees–or we buy it from the store. 🙂 You can imagine my thrill when Tom suggested we find a place to stay in the mountains for the month of October! No more wondering if we’ll hit peak. We’ll get to see peak happen slowly over the course of several weeks. I’m so excited!

Today’s Fall Date Idea requires you to be where the leaves are changing, so I apologize to my Florida friends who are unable to do this one…yet!

Fall Date #3

Take a leisurely walk together where you hear the crunch of leaves beneath your feet. While walking talk about the time in your life when you first fell in love. Remember the details–what were you wearing, how did you feel, what did you order, who did you call first after your date?

Surprise your spouse with some hot cider and a fresh caramel apple to share. Look for the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the scenery.

Dates don’t have to cost a lot, and they don’t have to involve a lot of planning. Simply enjoying the weather with the one you love is enough to count as a great date!

  1. I love this idea! Candied/caramel apples are my favorites:) I can’t wait until the leaves change color here in SC. Enjoy your stay in the mountains!

I love this! We just went to North Carolina a couple of weekends ago for a brief 3 day get-away. The mountains are so special to us, and we were in our element! We went hiking, mountain biking, and just relaxed at our B&B. The leaves weren’t quite as brilliant as they will be this month, but we did see lots of color along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Have a great time!

  3. 4 kids including a baby, even a walk takes planning and preparation! I think I might turn this one from a date into a family outing.

Oh I just love Fall, Debi! I’m so drawn to this idea. Thanks for sharing it. I’m in So. Cal. so our Fall season is short. It’s Oct. and we’re living in 90 degree weather still!

Our leaves aren’t changing yet, here in the piedmont of NC – it’s coming though.. Great date idea. I have a leaf pressed into my Bible from when Rob and I were dating – maybe it’s time to pick up another and put it with the first…

Lori, This is the first time we’ve been able to be here for the entire changing of the leaves. We are having the time of our life! This is on our I ❤ List to do, and we're actually doing it. God is so good to bless us with this time in our marriage. I hope your leaves are beautiful!

  6. I’m loving all these fall ideas…I just read this one to my husband and his comment was “You should print these out and put them on the fridge.” 🙂

Such a sweet idea! We live in the High Plains so it’s kinda lacking fall colors here, but there are plenty of spots to drive to within a half hour that have beautiful trees. Will definitely do this after I get off work tomorrow. :o)
