I hadn’t seen most of the ideas on this list before. The $10,5,1 date looks like a real fun one to do, and it’s completely repeatable without getting old. The Mystery Date looks like a lot of fun to me, too. Especially with your mulligan rules. I wonder if my wife would enjoy doing a date that was determined by flips of the coin, or if the lack of control of the situation would be too much for her to handle.

There’s only one way to find out if your wife would enjoy it. Try it, but you could always have a back up restaurant in mind in case. This date idea was invented by our son and his wife and they do it often. We’ve yet to try it for the same reason you listed. I guess it’s time to be more adventurous when it comes to where we eat, huh? Be sure to let us know how it goes.
