**Don’t miss your chance to enter the incredible Valentine Giveaway at the bottom of this post and to check out more ideas from the sponsors of the giveaway.**

I love the opening scene in Mary Poppins where the wind changes direction and you know something special is about to happen. Bert is the first one to see it coming and sings in a whisper…

Winds in the east, mist coming in. Like somethin’ is brewin’ and bout to begin.

Can’t put me finger on what lies in store, but I fear what’s to happen all happened before.

Well, what if the winds were to change direction in your marriage this Valentines Day? What if something really special took place in your relationship? And what if YOU were the one to plan this something special? If these questions intrigue you, you’ve come to the right place.

We want to provide you with ideas to surprise your spouse in a special way this year by helping you do something you may have never considered. Why? Because romance doesn’t happen independently in marriage; it takes intentionality to make it happen.

What came naturally when you were dating, now takes thought and purpose.  It may have happened before, but it needs to happen once more.

There are so many great ideas, but what makes something romantic for one might not work for you. This is where studying your spouse and knowing what they love makes all the difference.

Check out our Romantic Valentine Ideas for Him or Romantic Valentine Ideas for Her to see if something stands out to you. Or you might want to choose one of our fun date night ideas, dinner date ideas or creative date ideas. Or use our ideas as a springboard for your own unique idea.

Don’t quit reading…there’s an incredible opportunity for you to win some amazing prizes for your Valentine at the end of this post! 🙂 Make this a Valentines Day your spouse won’t soon forget!

      Jennifer,
What an excellent example your husband has demonstrated to you, his wife. He is emulating Christ and His love for the church. Love it!

He really does. I have suffered from horrible pms mood swings and he never gave up on me, even when I was a most horrible person and would say awful, hurtful things to him, he endured and believed that it was not really the true me who was being so terrible. This past summer, life just got so unbearable and we were on the verge of divorce, we were going to counseling with no luck then in late September we both accepted Jesus back into our hearts and lives after more than a decade away. Our lives, our marriage, my mood swings, everything has changed so dramatically. Life is so amazing now! My 30’s were such a dark blur. We celebrated our 21st . anniversary this past November and we feel like newlyweds all over again.

Jesus! And a load of determination…….
Let me start by saying, Mr. B and I were not raised in Christian homes. Neither one of us knew anything about the Bible or anything about marriage. If that was not enough, we had several other strikes against us…….

Strike 1~Divorce was rampant in our families. We had some in our family that got new spouses like some get new cars!
        Strike 2~When we married, I was 16, Mr. B was 18
Strike 3~ We were both the oldest children in our families, and since our parents were divorced and the dads out of the pictures, we were the Alphas of our homes.

BUT……we had a determination we were going to break the divorce cycle!

We both came to know the Lord 5 years into our marriage.
We have served the Lord for 38 yrs. now. Even though a miracle had taken place in our lives, we had a lot of baggage to work through and throw out. I thank God for Grace & Mercy,

You said it so well! The only reason any marriage makes it through decades of good time and horrible times is the kindness, grace and mercy of God! Thank you for sharing part of your story with us. It will bring hope to those who may be discouraged in their relationship right now. What a testimony you have!
        Blessings,

        Thank you Debi.
I am ashamed to say, but it is our testimony, that is was only 3 1/2 years ago I finally learned what true biblical respect and submission and being a helpmeet toward my husband was. I thought I knew before, I thought it was my duty as his helpmeet to make him the perfect husband, the perfect father, and even the perfect pastor.
Because of Gods patience with me, His mercy and grace……. I now have a private facebook page to help other wives get it right earlier in their marriage than I did.
So for the discouraged – never give up! There is always help, no matter how long you have been married or how old you are.

Amen! Don’t apologize for the timing of God in your life and marriage. He is never late, but in the delays He gives us a unique testimony to help those He will send our way.

My Favorite thing about my Valentine is that she has loved me through somethings that other women may have given up on me during those times. She has stood by me during my “recovery” and lifestyle changes. Taking away my smart phone and installing protection software on our computers was the best thing she could have done for me! Love you my Dear Melissa!

One of my favorite things about Valentine’s day is that it isn’t really special…My Beloved deserves the best of me all year and we work toward making EVERY day like Valentine’s day. We dont’ always succeed (Probably less than half the time) but the effort is rewarding!

My favorite thing about my valentine is simply that she is mine, my partner in the adventure of life, Everything else is just icing on the cake. And there’s a lot of icing. Like, I’m taking corner piece with upper and lower border trim and icing flowers squeezed on.

My favorite thing about my Valentine is that he has taught me how important communication is to our marriage. We have been married 16 years, this is a second marriage for both of us, and raised four kids together, through it all he has always pushed for us to talk things out. He is my sweetie and he makes me laugh.
