The five things that are on my mind this week are worship songs.
Worship plays a huge part in our marriage. It is here where we can join together worshiping our Savior using the words and melodies of heart-searching songs to lift our eyes to the only One who knows us best.
It has been an emotional week for us. Maybe we’ll delve into that in future posts, but not yet. Right now worship is what is helping us most. These are five of our favorite songs. We hope you’ll take a few minutes to listen and let these songs minister to you as they have to us.

I am grateful for the gift God has given us through worship. It is in this place where His Spirit meets us in our point of need. What a gift I never want to take for granted.

We cannot imagine our lives and marriage without worship songs and together worship time. It has gotten us through some of our most challenging times. It for sure has brought both of us closer to God and closer to one another.

In this vast and lonely land
where cancer’s bound my soul,
music helps me take a stand,
and this is how I roll:
Dropkick Murphys’ “Hang ‘Em High”
is singularly a blessing
because I darn well refuse to die
and hold what they’re professing.
Cancer’s got advantage here,
and I am sore outgunned;
its fell companion, yeah, it’s fear,
but I’m not born to run.
It may be my last place and time,
but this is where I draw the line.

Something about hymns, they have so much meaning. One of my favorites is “Here I Am Lord”, another is “Be Not Afraid”

I do love the old hymns. It’s amazing how much truth has been memorized just by the repetition of singing these classics.
