Week 1 – Game Night

So far this week, we haven’t had our at-home date night. Our home is filled with grandchildren as our daughter and her three children are visiting with us. We hope to get a date in before next Monday, and once we do, we’ll update what we did here.

But please don’t let this deter you from sharing with us your first date idea. Simply comment below–we can’t wait to hear!

We had a great time on our week on date night
    Nikki 🙂
Also, we did do the Clue game on Valentine’s Eve, but it was a flop! I’m going to post about that too! We agreed to try it again sometime!

I just did our first “themed at-home date night” for Valentine’s Day. I can’t remember where I got the idea, but it was linked in a Generous Wife email. (Maybe from Romantic Vineyard??) I bought the classic game Clue and came up with an outfit for each of the 6 characters (didn’t have to buy anything — all from my closet/lingerie and vamped up a bit), a position or accessory for each weapon, and then rooms in our home to match the rooms on the board. I didn’t tell my husband (who has never played Clue before — what??) that part until we had finished the game. He was very pleasantly surprised when I told him the other half of his Valentine’s Gift. From now on, we’ll have fun memories about the game (secret memories if others are playing with us)…and it’ll take a while to reveal all the outfits and such, so it’s a long standing gift of at-home dates.

Our take on this was a bit different. We were heading out on a two day road trip. We divided the 50 states into 3 categories then gave them each a “function, person, or “place””. Then we watched for license plates from the states and played out things when we had three, one from each of the categories. I ended up “blessing” my husband on a roadside park in Utah that was deserted because of the weather there in very early March. He now refers to this specific sexual act as Rhode Island because when we returned to the parking lot and our car, there was a big truck with that license plate in the parking lot. 🙂

Hi! I’m new in this site…how do I read where these “GYRO” challenges are posted? Week 1 says “Game Nite”, but I don’t see the challenge? Thanks for your help! 🙂
