My husband had to go out of town a couple of weekends ago and I was having a craft show at our house with a girlfriend. He left late Friday night and was to return Saturday sometime. He said it would probably be in the morning that he would leave. He figured I would be busy with the craft show and would not miss him anyway. (I did though) Anyways, he said he would call me when he was leaving so I would know when to expect him. It was a 5-6 hour drive for him to get home. It was going on 3 pm and I still had not heard from him. I sent him a text message saing, ” I am assuming you will not make it home for supper. That’s fine, please drive safe. I love you.”
Half hour later he called me saying he was just leaving. Keep in mind we have 6 children and all of them were gone either to a friends house and/or relatives house just because. We had the house to ourselves! That never happens. Well, he said the action waited until the last minute to show what he was waiting to see so he would be home around 9 or 10 pm. I was sad and he could tell. He asked if I wanted him to stop at the video store to grab some movies for us. I said it would be nice but he did not have to do it because I knew he would be tired fromt he drive. “See ya soon and love you,” I said. I sat down at the table to tell my girlfriend, who was leaving any minute, that it was sad that we have the house to ourselves and we are apart. At that, I looked out the living room window and there he was. My prince in shinning armor. You will never believe what he had with him…….Yes, Fireproof! He had left early and stopped at the video store to get what he calls “Chick Flicks” for me. He and I sat snuggled on the couch watching this movie. I cried. He said, “I suppose I have to buy this for you now?” Of course I sais yes. Now I know what i am getting for the next holiday. He bought me The Notebook and the Lake House after we had watched those movies. How lucky am I to have a husband like this? The movie I have recommended to all of my friends and accaintences to watch. It is my all time favorite!
