Now for what’s happening around Orlando this week:

CENTRAL

  • Lake Eola – Martin Luther King Parade at 10a.  Concert in the park from 2p – 6p.  FREE
  • Winter Park – Annual Sidewalk Sale – Park Avenue, Thursday, January 14th – all day.
  • Winter Park – Popcorn Flicks in the Park – Thursday, January 14th, 7p.  Feature movie: Silver Streak.  FREE
  • Winter Park – Dinner on the Avenue – will take place on Saturday, April 16th.  Tables are limited and can be reserved now.  Cost is $100 for a table of 8.  The idea is to have four couples plan a table setting and dinner around a theme.  There will be judges to offer prizes to the best in several categories.  See the link for more details.
  • Harry P. Leu Gardens – Camellia Show, Saturday and Sunday, January 16th and 17th.  9a – 5p. Gardens and Show are FREE.

NORTH

  • Mt. Dora – Friday, January 15th. The Canadian Tenors.  Time 7:30p. Place: Mt. Dora High School Auditorium, Cost: $25 per person
  • Mt. Dora – Renninger’s Antique Extravaganza – Friday, January 15th from 10a – 5p., Saturday and Sunday, January 16th and 17th from 8a. – 5p.  Cost is $10 – Friday, $6 – Saturday and $4 – Sunday.
  • Mt. Dora Ghost Walk Tour – Friday and Saturday, January 15th and 16th.  7p and 8p.  Cost is $10 for Adults.

EAST

SOUTH

  • Hunter’s Creek – Movie in the Park (Osprey Park), Friday, January 15th, 7p.  Featuring the movie: Shorts, rated PG. FREE
  • Orange County Convention Center – Orlando Home and Garden Show – Friday (15th) through Sunday (17th).  Hours are 10a to 9p, 6p (Sunday).  Tickets are $8 at the door, but if you purchase from their website beforehand you’ll save $3.

WEST

  • Lakeridge Winery – Winter Music Series – Saturday, January 16th from 1p – 4p.  FREE
