My friends all tease me. Even my family joins in the fun. They say they can’t believe it happened AGAIN?!? This is in response to the following announcement I’ve made often:
“I won!”
It’s true. I love to enter contests just to see if I can win. And when I think about it, I’ve won a lot! Let’s see –
- I helped my son enter his first writing contest when he was 8 or so. He won a free round of golf for Tom and three friends as well as a free Father’s Day Brunch for our entire family.
- I won a hot-air balloon ride over west Orlando including a champagne breakfast as the sun rose over the horizon.
- I won the use of a Cadillac Catera for one month.
- I’ve won countless gift cards and gift baskets to all kinds of places
- I won a new kitchen from WLOQ – by far my biggest win and my favorite. (In fact this is the reason we started doing our Here’s To Us Contest on the 12th of every month. We have won so much, we wanted to share the fun of winning with you!)
- I won a blue ribbon for my Apple Pie at the Orange County Fair
and my most recent win?
- Two tickets to see Yanni perform live at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre.
Most of these wins were on the radio. You may think I have to listen to it all the time in order to win. But I really don’t. I simply go to their website to see what contests they’re offering, and if any catch my interest I enter. It’s that simple.
The reason I highlight this today is so you can be motivated to give entering contests a try. I especially like the 10th caller contests on WLOQ. They do them all the time, and it is simple. They even tell you what hour they will have the contest and what the prize will be ahead of time.
