Journey Worth Your Time

The Bible tells us about the wise man who built his house upon the Rock, though the winds blew and rains came, it didn’t fall down.  Such a strong foundation for our marriage is the Word of God.  It provides the strength we need to stand together as husband and wife when the storms blow – and come they will!

What storms are you currently facing?  How is God’s Word helping you stand?

Since it is a new year – it’s always good to assess our commitment to God’s Word.  And what better thing to commit to together as husband and wife than to read it together.  Or you may opt to do what we do – Debi and I read through the Bible each year separately, but we read the same passages each day.  This gives us someone to talk to about what we’ve read and to ask questions on parts we don’t understand.  It has been a tremendous blessing in our lives.

If this is something that interests you – check out The Route 66 Blog – where reading daily through the 66 books of the Bible is a yearly journey.  Whether it takes you completely through all books in one year or two, doesn’t matter.  What matters is that you’re reading daily from His Word building the foundation of your souls and your marriage.  Route 66 provides regular encouragement to help you continue on the ancient road; simply sign up to follow the blog, and you’ll be on your way to a journey well worth your time.
