Our first date with the Project 52 Challenge didn’t start out so well, since I had a cold. But we still managed to make a wonderful memory in spite of it all.
Since it was the coldest weather we’ve experienced in years, my husband wanted to buy some fire logs for our evening together. This was no easy task – as all Floridians wait until the last minute to purchase said logs, every store was sold out. So Tom retreated to Publix to buy something else I needed, and Voila! They had a new shipment of fire logs! The night would be cozy indeed!
We prepared our special dinner by defrosting homemade lasagna adding some fresh sauce. After dinner we cuddled together on the sofa to watch the HBO series on John Adams, some friends had loaned us on DVD. Earlier in the day I baked a sweet potato pie, so as the fire crackled and American history unfolded before us, we enjoyed a delicious dessert together. It was a simply perfect way to start our challenge even if I was feeling a bit under the weather.
Cost of date: One box of firelogs
Time spent together: Priceless!
Sounds lovely!!! Any chance “said Friend” would mind if we borrowed movie? Or is it possible to rent from Blockbuster? 🙂

I’m certain it’s available from Blockbuster or you might try the Orange County Library. If they don’t have it they’ll purchase it for you.
