A Hot Mess

A typical morning at our house includes sharing our devotional time with the Lord. And eventually deciding what to have for breakfast. Often Tom makes it for us and he always plates it beautifully.

But this morning I had an idea. A family favorite is stewed blackberries over hot-buttered biscuits and Publix has the blackberries on BOGO this week. I was excited, until my biscuits failed. They didn’t rise as they should have—edible, but not fluffy.

Add to this the mess I made of the kitchen. Tom came to my rescue and cleaned it all. And the biscuits weren’t bad when drenched with butter and blackberries.

I share this to make much of the little ways Tom makes my life easier. It is a blessing when both husband and wife look out for each other on good days and especially on frustrating days.

How does your spouse notice and care for you on difficult days? Take time to thank them.
