   Now that is too funny!!! On our first Christmas together after we had been married, I really wanted and asked many times for the Precious Moments Nativity Scene. Well, there was a box for me under the tree that I was so excited about. It was about the weight and size of that set and I just knew that Joe had gotten for me. After all, he knew I really wanted it. So there we were on Christmas morning. I was trying to act like I didn’t know about the nativity scene. I wanted to act surprised and had rehearsed the lovin’ I would give him once I opened my gift. He was excited that I was excited. I picked it up and began to tear open the wrapping paper. Half way through, I noticed that the box was not that pretty pastel blue that most of the boxes were. Awww, maybe he got the set unboxed and had to find his own. There wasn’t anything else I had asked for that was this size and weight. Upon further unwrapping, I found myself the owner of a new set of knives in a butcher block. WHAT?????? We were newly married in August and had all the new stuff (like knives) already from all the wedding gifts we had just unwrapped. I was heartbroken. Needless to say, Joe did what he had to do to get out of the doghouse and has bent over backwards ever since to get the things on my list, not what he thought I would want. We laugh about it every Christmas.

     What an hilarious story! Thanks for adding it to our post! Maybe some of our newly wed readers will learn from Joe’s mistake and avoid the “Dog House”. 🙂
